This year, however, demand for stalls has been phenomenal and will the kind permission of Mark Heigham, the new owner, there will be additional stalls in the car park of the Castle Inn.

There will now be over 90 stalls selling a full range of Christmas related goods. A number of stalls will also be selling the usual popular selection of drinks and hot food including John Groom’s traditional Hog Roast and The Bahn Thai.

Despite early appalling weather last year the event still was very popular and this year the fair will be even bigger with be an additional 20+ stalls. It is no idle boast that this year promises to be the best ever event.

All the markets prove to be a popular attraction for the Town, with attendance from visitors increasing each year. The Christmas market especially, has a unique atmosphere with lights and entertainment.

The variety of goods, many of which are produced locally, makes the Christmas Fair makes an enjoyable day out for all the family. Free car parking will be available throughout the town.

Great Yarmouth Christmas Fayre Weekend

Great Yarmouth Christmas Fayre Weekend
30th November to 2nd December

There will be something for all the family to see and do at this years annual Christmas Fayre being held in Great Yarmouth. The Fayre is an opportunity for the public, friends, families, and civic dignitaries to enjoy all the Christmas festivities that will be on offer.

This year the Fayre will be a weekend event running from Friday 30 November through to Sunday 2 December. The historic Market will be held over these three days and there will also be a fairground on Brewery Plain car park.

There will be numerous events, activities and stalls on all days and once again we will be welcoming our friends from Norway, who will be displaying many of their wonderful hand-made crafts and gifts. It is now the ninth year that we have had a party of crafters from Norway to make for a very unique event for our visitors.

There will be a Norwegian Christmas Carol concert on Saturday 1 December at 7.00pm being held at St. Nicholas Parish Church. A choir will be travelling all the way from Lardal, Norway to perform. There will also be an ‘alternative’ Christmas story, ‘BC/AD’, on the Friday performed by Dreamstone.

A procession will be leaving the Town Hall at 3.20pm and all are invited to come along and join in the procession.

His Worship the Mayor, Councillor Paul Garrod, will officially open the Fayre on the 30 November at 10.00am at St. Nicholas Parish Church. At 3.30pm on Sunday 2 a special closing ceremony, to include some traditional Christmas Carols, will be held.

The Borough Council will also be providing a free park and ride service from the Beach Coach Station.

For further information contact Duncan Mallett, Chairman of Great Yarmouth Christmas Fayre on 01493 846403.
